Amazon returns - can now print off postage from their website!

One of the hassles of returning items to Amazon in the past I've found is that you have to go to the post office to figure out what the correct postage is for the books.
Anyway, I logged into Amazon the other day and it now offers to print out the postage label on a Business returns label.
Apparently they will take the postage charge out of any refund to you.
Has anyone tried this, is it an economical way of returning items to Amazon? (I am assuming they get discounted rates from the Post Office). Or do they levy some sort of handling fee?

Used this sevice last month to replace a damaged item. Very pleased as they even sent the replacement before the faulty item reached them.0

I take it they only take out the cost of postage from a refund if there are no problems with the item. Earlier in the year I sent a memory card back (wrong one sent) and amazon refunded the postage it cost me to send back0
