He wants a playstation 3

Hi all I was wondering if any of you could help me with my Christmas shopping spending. My son is asking for a play station 3. As you know they are quite expensive. I really don't want a big chunk out of my bank account paying for it. Any ideas of how best to do this? He also has a birthday in December too so this is an expensive month for me.

Don't we all!
If he does get it, I'd say it'd easily cover xmas and birthday.0 -
Yes he's happy with it being a birthday present and Christmas present. But how can I best spread out the cost?0

my son wanted a ps3 for xmas so we decided that he could have one if he saved up £100 himself....
he has sold his ps2 and games on ebay and not spent any pocket money for ages....
but now the cheeky little thing has worked out that if he gets a xbox360 instead, he can spend the money he has saved up
i got the xbox last week on deal in argos for £169 with 2 controllers and 3 games.
i would keep an eye out at argos and woolworths as they are starting to get good deals in now0 -
you can get them with some mobile phone contracts - i wont say free but at £30 a month for an 18 mth contract that comes to £540 total including ps3 and phone/minutes/texts for 18 mths - plus you are spreading the cost. If anyone needs a new mobile phone anyway it seems like a good deal to me.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

perhaps you could get an argos card? as long as you can pay it off within the set amount of time, you can get various 0% deals for upto 9ish months

I'd make sure you hang on for a few days before signing up for one (if you can afford the time depending on what date the birthday's is?). With the rumoured cuts to VAT about today, it may take a little while before the retailers pass that on? The cash difference won't be huge for you, but it's better in your pocket that theirs ;-)An uneffected guitar sounds like a little girl crying. An uneffected bass sounds like an angry Rhino!0
