new to dmp

Can anyone give me advice please. Have just started dmp with cccs but may need to reduce my payment to them due to OH not having overtime and expensive dental bills to pay. What will happen with my creditors? some of them seem to have accepted my dmp but not all of them. Will i be able to reduce payments to them for a couple of months, or will this mess all my plan up? Have spoken to cccs but she said to try and pay them if i can as i may be back to square one again. Has anybody had to reduce payments to cccs and if so what happened to them? Help please, am losing sleep over this.

  • Hi Salstar,

I have also recently started a DMP thru cccs. They sent out the initial info to credito's then we had a chat and they actually decided that I had not allowed enough for living expenses. So, they had to resend my ammended gumf back to the credito's who seem pretty ok with it so far (well the ones who have replied:D ) I know its not the same, I'm just wondering if you maybe threw the line "I don't think I allowed myself enough for this" at them maybe?

Also, I'm assuming that you discussed your budget with them prior to the whole thing kicking off? I didn't, hence the above. So if you didn't throw that into the conversation too!

Hopefully someone more experienced will come along and offer something more useful

  • Thanks Honky Tonk for reply. I will ring them again tomorrow. I did do a budget with them initially, but didn't really allow for any emergencies. Just wanted to put as much money in as possible to pay for debts. Only had a couple of replies from creditors so far accepting my plan. But i have heard that dmp s are quite flexible. So will have another chat with them.
  • Right o,

I hope it all goes ok.
