Another car question!

Sorry, I'm full of questions today in readiness for our impending OR interview (whenever that might be).
If they decide that we can't keep 2 cars, are we able to choose which car we keep?
DH drives are very old and very knackered estate only worth around £200. I drive a marginally newer family car but even that is only worth around £700. Under no circumstances would I be happy about having my children ferrying around in the old estate as I don't consider it to be all that safe due to age and condition.
I'm hoping that we won't have to surrender either car as our expenses for running both cars isn't huge but we are preparing ourselves for the worst.
Can we choose?
Neither car is going to make any sort of impact on clearing any of our debts but I want to keep my car rather than DH's.
TIA

Not sure, if you wanted both you would really have to prove that you NEEDED both not just that it'd be a convenience... no idea how the OR would choose which one though

don;t forget though that it's not just how much the car would fetch on resale but also how much it would free up on your I&E (subsituting car expense with public transport) and so potentially increase an IPA:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
I think from the figures we have quoted on our I&E, it might free up approx £50 per month as we haven't included servicing on either car as we don't get them serviced (haven't been able to afford to!) and I only use a minimal amount of fuel.
I'd be surprised if we could manage not to spend that on public transport as I can't manage much walking due to a back problem.0
