first attempt at forms

Options
got date for 7th jan as they busy in nottingham so got lotsa time for forms but wanted advice on first attempt please--i am on income support as a single parent with a 9 and 4 year old but do avon (that i declare)-do i still put i am unemployed? and also put i work? on forms so i can put down all my income?

this is my income/expenses frist draft-please advise if i can higher figures for my family situation and if any need lowering

income pcm (as forms ask for)

ctc 385
income support 247
chb 135
housing benefit 494
average avon 127
TOTAL 1388

expenses pcm
rent 500
housekeeping 350
gas/electric 60
water 25
telephone 40
petrol 60
clothing/shoes 65
internet 10
tv licence 12
2 birthdays/2 christmas 15
childcare for evening college 30
road tax 11
car insurance/breakdown 25
mot/repairs 15
school activitys 10
holidays 65
TOTAL 1293

surplus of 95 but if they dont count chb as income deficit of 40

any thoughts please - am i right in thinking that cos my income is 1388 or 1253 without chb that the receiver would have to get my expenses down from 1293 to at least 1152 to make me have a surplus of 101 in order to make me have a payment order?? so would need to disallow at least 141 of my expenses??

so my figures are pretty safe/realistic?!

internet 10 won't be allowed, try and add it to telephone.

    :hello:
Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.

  • Hi singleme!

    Try these -
    Prescriptions / dentist / optician £20
Put gas/elec up to at least 80, to allow for price increases and winter. They don't usually ask for bills.
We had pressies left in, so it's worth a go.
Are kid's activities educational? Not sure whether they're allowed, but leave them in!

Do they take something off your benefits for the Avon? If so, I think you're still counted as unemployed, so wouldn't have an IPA anyway, but I may not be right in thinking that!
  • £10 dry cleaning? Just a thought!

Maybe try haircuts at £20 - they can only say no!
