currys and pc world doing the exact same one for £179.99.

Its likely you bought the Linux one with the 8GB SSD and 512MB for 179.99, this is a good price for the XP HDD version.

Yes this is the XP/1GB version. Currently on sale at Amazon for about £270.

I have never used Linux so didn't want to chance the cheaper version.

I bought this earlier with the 10% discount and Quidco. Qudico tracked no problem so overall saving on the Amazon one was about £40 although I will probably have to wait till next year for the Quidco payout.

sorry,your prob right bout buying the other one...mind you had to take it bk,as dd said she couldnt get the msn messenger to download,wasnt compatible(what ever that meant)..also she couldnt have her pic on the front......teenages what do they expect for that price lol.

you need a linux version of msn for the linux version of the note book . something like http://kmess.org/
