To be honest I don't know if it has or not. Although I'd guess it has... slightly.

The reason I'm not sure id I've just graduated, moved to London and I expected the first few months to be tough anyway. So I was expecting to be skint anyway. The only thing I really notice is the cost of some foods going up (bread, chopped tomatoes.etc). If the credit crunch hadn't happened I may have been tempted to get a credit card at the end of uni, and use it now. so it's benefitted me in a way, as I'm more aware of money and the price of living.

  • Hasn't really affected me - I've never been a big spender so unlike some I'm not having to cut down on nights out and other entertainment. I was never big on buying clothes/music/that stuff so again, not having to cut down. I don't drive, don't have a mortgage, our gas and lekky are actually lower than before the price rises as we've been extra careful.

The only spend that crept up *slightly* for a while was chocolate/snacks. I tended to buy a lot at the corner shop as I'm lazy... but I have started to be a bit more savvy so go to places like B&M and Home Bargains and stock up rather than going to the shop all the time, so I'm actually spending less now!
  • Ive been affected first of all by not being able to get a 0% CC and also by 90% LTV mortgages now not having good rates... obviously the fall in house prices go against having a lower LTV... thankfully my job is pretty secure, but I do know couple of people who have been made redundant (both work in the finance sector)...

I think the credit crunch has mainly affected those in the banking sector (i.e job losses), those with small businesses (as many small or start up businesses rely on credit in early days and there are banks that have been re calling debt etc), and those liked me that have been sailing close to the wind financially... however, I must say that its partly due to the credit crunch that I got my LBM
