I think I am on the road to recovery nearly

. after totally freeking out yesterday about our dire situation , I spent twhe whole day looking at our income and expenditure.
I haven't gotten the debts sorted yet but i have managed to reduce our living expenses enough to give me £400 to split between them each month.
I have letters written to all the credit referance agencies to get copies of our credit files so that i don't forget anyone and end up with everything falling apart again.
Life is going to be pretty tough but we can manage . I proved yesterday that i can feed 6 of us for £50 a week (its not gormet cooking or even fantastic food but we will all have full tummies). All fun is pretty much out of the window but i have allowed the kids their £3 pocket money because why should they suffer because we have been stupid.
the only struggle now is to make two car payments before 14th january to avoid additional charges every 10 days but i am sure we will find the money from somewhere.
do you think cancelling all the existing dd's would be ok pending the new offers to our creditors. I have the feeling they won't accept reduced payents while they are still getting £70 month from our bank account.
I may need some help working out how much to pay who when i get the final figures back ( and that is going to be so scary) .
thanks for reading

Good on you Jane!
It's both frustrating and hard when you realise just how much you could have done when you budget. I sooooo wish I had saved money when I was younger (I'm 30) I could have bought a house, many friends of mine own their own property. It's very disheartening. I instead had this spend spend spend attitude....but now I have learnt my lesson!
Each payment that you make, will be a step closer to being debt free- have no idea what the answer would be to your question RE cancelation of dd paymnts...I'l leave that to the more experience people on here..
Hang on in there Jane- you've taken some very positive steps! You will see the rewards soonDebt /Overdraft/Everything Free December 2007 :j0
