cant see the wood for the trees

Hi guys

This is my first of hopefully many posts to this forum. My problem is I have a number of credit cards store cards etc I make at least a minimum payment each month which obviously isnt helping to lower any of the outstanding amounts. What I have at present are:
Cap 1 Bal £795 limit £800
Vanquis Bal £150 limit £500
Simply be Bal £500 limit £2150
Citi Bal £250 limit £300
barclay card Bal £360 limit £380
Aqua Bal £1300 Limit £1500
Littlewoods Bal £1900 Limit £4100
Cap 1 Bal £390 Limit 400
Halifax bal £1440 limit £1500
Next bal £570 limit £600
Cap 1 Bal £1050 limit £1200

After paying all household bills including food I have approx £500 to use for the above what would you tackle and how first.
As I've said I am making minimum payments at least on all of the above.

Thanks
Marie

  • Welcome. Do you have APRs for these debts as this is vital for deciding which gets paid first.

To find out the APRs you could give them a call, and while you are on the phone ask if they will reduce them - no harm in asking.

Once you have the details, put them in the snowball calculator at www.whatsthecost.com and it will tell you what to pay off first, in what order, and will give you a debt free date to work to! It is a really nifty little tool and many people on here find it a real motivator.
