my dfw thread!

ok so ive done pretty well but im getting annoyed with this all being round my neck! so im going to list here my debts and hope someone can give me some kinda advice as what to do!

i started off last year with over £8000 of debt, not too much but more than enough when on £47 per week!

now my current debts stand at this:

Barclays Overdraft (termination notice!) £1250.49
Sky Subscribers Service (with debt collectors!) £95
Additions (letter of arrears received) approx £190
Next Directory £126.91
Avon Cosmetics £264.27

and lastly, a letter from inland revenue saying i owe approx£200 for NI contributions from being self employed! i havent been self employed for over 2 1/2 years and i did contact them at the time, the business was only open for 2 months but i closed it because my ex was taking all the profits! grr so now i have no proof of how much i earned!

sorry this is so long and i am going to my CAB tomorrow but any advice right now would be nice!

  • also, i know there are maybe 1 or 2 other debts i have, but as i havent had any letters from them i dont know who with or how to contact them, is it possible these will come back to haunt me in future or is it possible that after a while they will give up? i think they were only for maybe £20 or £30 max £50!

    thanks

no im not sure, i left my job a few weeks ago, it was making me depressed and stressing me! i know i shouldnt have but at the time felt to me the best option! and ive been told that because i left i cant sign onto JSA again! is this true?
would be good if not, but im not too bothered because i will have a new job in 2 weeks time!

also, i couldnt get to the CAB today and i have just re-read the letter i have from barclays and the date on it is the 7th november, though i only received it 3 days ago! and it says i have 14 days from the date on the letter to sort something out!
if i tell them i am seeing someone on tuesday about it, will they extend the date for me?
    thanks :)

You can sign onto JSA but you'll be sanctioned for up to 26 weeks for leaving voluntarily.
Do you have any income at present?
