Clearing my card balance

Hi, long time reader, first time poster!
I got fired from my job earlier this year, and have only managed to get permanent employment again just recently. During the time inbetween I made a little money teaching music, but no more than I would've got on the dole. My problem is that I've built up about £900 debt on my credit card and I'd like to know the best way to handle it.
A friend recommended getting another credit card (the Post Office one) and transferring the balance to it to take advantage of the introductory rates i.e. no interest or fees on balance transfers for the first 12 months, but I wanted to check with you guys first.
I only got the credit card primarily to buy items that don't take Maestro, so I'm not that clued up about them.
Looking forward to your sage advice,
- Steve

Here's a list of current deals:

The Post Office cards appear to have a BT fee of 2.98%.
The guys on the credit card board can advise which ones you are likely to be accepted for.0
