BR and newspaper ads

Hi All
Can anyone help me?
About 6 months ago when I thought I was going to go br, I'm sure I read somewhere that the law was changing and the local ads. were going to be stopped - I thought it was Jan 2009. I've searched the archives here but I can't find any reference to it now. Unfortunately, it looks as if I can't avoid the inevitable for much longer, and suddenly this bit of information is quite important to me! Does anyone know anything about it.

Yes it's due to change in march 2009 so i have read but where you would find definate info on this is beyond me :rolleyes: .Dx

Damn they could have changed it sooner lol. Esp as MIL made OH tell BIL today when paper came out in case it was in there......as it might not be and we are not close to BIL I didn't see why we should tell him anything unless it did become public....but all this happened without me being consulted...heyho

Strange thing though I realised today we were 210 & 211/2008 which I assume means the number of BR in our area to date this year.....now I am one of those sad people that does read that section of the paper but only because in ours is not sighted by the Escort Services but is with the listed building planning consent section and LA announcements like road closures for road works etc and I am damn certain that there have not been 200 odd notices in there.....now I appreciate that some people may have a more "local" paper to be placed in but this paper is the main definative local paper for the area........we are in a grey area that is covered by this and another smaller paper so maybe they pick and chose who gets the prize of a feature in print? Possibly by merit of their interview and information obtained......there was 1 in there this week so OH tells me that went BR on same day as us yet we weren't in it.....so again that doesn't give an indication why....we have our OR meeting next Wed (day of paper publishing) so it might be in then just to make us feel even better lol.
