Cheapest way to send $100 to USA?
adviseme
I need to send $100 to a postal address in America.
Lloyds Bank charges £20 plus, of course, the charge to convert from sterling to USD. I also have an account with HSBC, which, I think, charges £15, so my best shot so far.
I tried to find out if this can be done through the Post Office, but failed - I do not want to send a MoneyGram or use any method where the money has to be collected. Maybe the PO has more info on this than I managed to unearth?
Any suggestions, please?

If you dare to jut send it though the post. My father used to send me money from OZ one a months and it never went missing. Another option is to do the same but by travellers cheque.
Debts: Gym £[strike]465.75[/strike] Student account [strike]£1039.88[/strike] Overdraft [strike]£129.00[/strike] Credit Card [strike]£2772.22[/strike] Loan [strike]£6222.01 [/strike]
Total £10628.86

Cash in the mail sent international recorded delivery is insured up to £100. It will cost roughly a fiver in all, plus whatever it costs to get the $$.
The USA is fine - but note that some countries do not allow cash in the mail so whilst you can still do it on the quiet, the insurance would not pay up if lost/stolen/seized by customs.0
