have to say, £100 a month (£1200) a year on holidays is a lot for 2.
Use Martins' flightchecker for cheap flights, use the flight companies to grab free flights (plus taxes) when they are released. then do your research in to the local area, the towns, the hotels and choose a hotel using sites such as Trip Advisor.
We've just come back from a week in Spain for £140 each for flights, accommodation in a brand new beach facing building and transfers. We're going back to Spain in March - again, free flights, this time 8 nights and it shouldn't cost us more than £150 or so each, so 2 holidays for £580 between us.
It can be done - takes a bit of work over a number of weeks but if you do it in advance you can save a fortune - never use a travel agent to do the work for you!"Stay Wonky":D

Personally, with the surplus money that you 'should' have, I'd be tempted to leave the holiday money for now.
I presume that this money is saved each month.
When it comes time for you to book a holiday and go, if you have money left, then it can be thrown at the debt then.
To help cut the spending/frittering, only take a small amount of money out with you. It's amazing how much you spend when the money is in your purse.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

Unfortunately, hubby is a teacher and I work in education events, so we're required to take holidays in school holidays, grr! I hate the way the prices almost double for those weeks. I am quite good with getting the offers - got 3 nights with travelodge in Feb half term for £9 a night, so we're off to Northumbria rather than buying valentine's nonsense - but the cheap flight deals seem hard to find in those weeks. I think we're going to try to get somewhere really cheap and, like Whatawit said, throw everything that's left at the debt. I am expecting some to be left though - that is our absolute max spend for 2 weeks and I WILL get something cheaper!
Sorry can't seem to quote twice - Samantha, hubby is on board in that he wants to clear the debt and he completely disagrees that any of the debt is mine alone - he just hasn't had the 'light bulb moment' yet, so he keeps trying to 'treat' me to dinner out and encourages me to buy myself things. I chatted to him a bit about the debt last night and he's gradually getting on board - we agreed to only eat out once a week and only with a coupon/offer. He doesn't spend anything during the week anyway as he's so busy with work and I can 'supervise' him weekends and evenings :rotfl: !
Might be a bit of a tough day for me Re not spending as my mother in law's taking me out for a cuppa and it will inevitably end up in a charity shop/antique shop trawl. I have £5 in my purse, so I'll set that as my limit -unless I spot a priceless antique for nothing after I've spent up, but that'd go on ebay straight away !
Thanks again for all the suport - I'm reading as many threads as I can on here and I'm feeling motivated by knowing I'm not alone and can tackle this.0
