I've just had an email from Argos with this
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?rcptid=50EE80x5E496455&storeId=10001&referredURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.argos.co.uk%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FProductDisplay%3FstoreId%3D10001%26langId%3D-1%26partNumber%3D3354595&referrer=AR147&partNumber=3354595¶ms=AR147&langId=-1
does anyone know if this is a good price? I was looking on TV at the Orbitrek Platinum at £129.00 but the internet reviews seem a bit mixed.
Any help would be appreciated
thanks

Hey..... I work as a Fitness Instructor and to be honest you really do get what you pay for when buying home based cardio equipment.
A better option would probably be to check on line for ex-gym reconditioned kit by a more well known manufacturer such as LifeFitness, Technogym, Precor etc.
You will find that this type of kit is much more robust and you will probably get better value for money!
Hope that helps....

the thing with the gym equipment is that it would be a lot larger than the domestic ones wouldn't it?

hi
i ordered the exact same thing from lxdirect but it was from bodysculpture
it cost me just 25 quid cos i made a new account with them and used a code that was for 20 quid off 40 quid..http://www.lxdirect.com/rf/navigation/product.do?Ns=prod_in_stock%7C1%7C%7Cprod_new_in%7C1%7C%7Cprod_min_base_price%7C0%7C%7Cscu_id%7C1&groupId=234319436&Nu=this_product&SNtk=&Np=1&SN=160+1654+4294965209&Ntt=234319436&D=234319436&Ntk=group_search&Dx=mode%2Bmatchall&thisprod=234319436&N=160+1654+4294965209&Nty=1&Mis_item_id=15&Mis_item_loc_id=1&product=234319436

not always........
the item you mentioned may well do the job for you but they are dsigned for light use and are not always the sturdiest of items.
Trial and eror is the only real way of knowing what suits your needs
good luck0 -
One thing to be careful of is the angle of the footplates. My Bodysculpture one is so steep you think you are going to do a nose dive forward! As a result its sat here unused waiting to be put in the local free paper.0

just as a money saving thought........
Why not invest in an ipod instead and get out and walk/jog for the same period each day?
As already stated in this thread its very easy for purchases such as this to become ignored and they then just become dust collectors!!!0 -

Already do that! we have got a treadmill which we use every other day!
We were looking for a reasonably priced trainer around £200 to go with it. There seems such a huge range particulary in Argos i was hoping someone would narrow the field for us.

I bought this a few days ago http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/pages/moreinfoa.asp?pe=BCJGGGEQ_+magnetic+elliptical+strider+be6600&cid=880
It seems a good price in comparison to other sites. As to whether it's any good or not..I've still, er, to assemble it. Being a bit of a klutz at assembly it might take a day or two, but I'll let you know what I think.
This elliptical trainer has a lot more features..though I've no idea which is the better bargain, if any..

Perhaps somebody can give an opinion on these. The links may be useful anyway.0
