I've just been Discharged!!!

Hello Everyone!!

So I was thinking just now I wonder if I've been discharged yet! I hadn't heard from my OR or had any letters from anyone with regards to my bankruptcy! I just phoned them and I was discharged on the 12th of November!

So what happens now? is there ant difference to my situation? will I be able to go on my GF's bank account as a joint! at the moment her mum was put on the account as joint, so i've got a debit card but its got a ladies name on it!!

Also how long till I can go on the mortgage? its all in the missus name??

Seriously .. if you're not paying into an IPA you can get on with your life now .. might be worth having a look at the sticky with regards to sorting out your credit file!

hi all
I am new to here so please be gentle
I am in a real mess. I seem to owe monet here there and everywhere
I owe approx £11000 to one lender £3000 to another and £600 on credit cards yikes, made me cry typing that, didnt realise i owed so so much.
I currently have a payment plan set up with the creditors for the £11000, but want to pay off the rest (the £3000 owed is an overdraft and due to the interest i am strugglig to pay anything towards it monthly) What is my best option. I considered bankruptcy but know nothing about it. I am not a home owner and not behind on rent etc and my credit file is already battered. Would i loose my current account? also, my car is on finance, would i loose that also. My dad is the guarantor on this though? I heard about a possible loophole where i could get the debts written off if writen proof of my signing for the debt needs to be provided and if isnt, i can deny the debts? please please please. someone help

Hi EL

Read the stickys at the top of the forum, and get advice from a debt counsellor. I owed a similar amount to you, recently went BR and am loving it. However, I have no plans to ever buy a house, and have few assets. BR might not be the best for you. Do the SOA on makesenseofcards.com, and post it on here. Oh, and start your own thread too!

Don't rush! You may be discharged, but that does not mean that lenders will immediately be comfortable offering you credit, whether that is a debit card, mortgage or whatever. It may be 6 years before you can get the best deals.
