Hi hope you can help
My friend has just announced that she is going to NY for a long weekend. My sons birthday is in a few weeks. Is it going to be too much trouble for her to get one? where is the most reliable place and easiest place to get it. What price..etc and are they okfor the UK.Any advice would be welcomed.
Thanks...

A US PSP will be coded for region 1 material, so will not play region 2 (UK) UMD disks, and will have the wrong power charger. Some UMD disks are region free, but I dont think you can tell which.
Pop down your local Gamestation and pick up a Giga pack for £199 - about the best UK price around currently (although bound to drop over the next few months!)0 -
So it really isn't worthwhile to buy from the US this item then...I didn't know this thanks.0

Well worth it - I paid $210 (£123) for my v1.51 from one of the many electrical retailers in the Times Square area ($250 in Virgin) + sales tax back in October. Then I got a 1gb Sandisk card off t'internet for £52 delivered.
Yes you dont get the correct power lead - but you can a) use a PS1 or PS2 power lead (which I do) or if you're desperate you can buy separate one here.
Although its supposed to be a R1 (for UMDs) the Spiderman UMD I have works fine on it (although I have some software running on it that might make it multi-region). Anyway, why pay £18 odd for UMDs when you can convert your own DVDs to run on the PSP for free?Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
