Last minute Old Style scented gift idea

This is an idea for an old style wardrobe freshener gift, which could cost nothing. I do this all the time. Forgive me if you've heard this before.
1Ever had lace edged hankies given to you as a gift from Aunties? Ever cleared out the drawers at home and found linen hankies and don't know what to do with them? Too pretty to throw away, but we just don't use them anymore?
2Do you cut off those ridiculous nuisances of ribbon loops on your dresses/blouses (you know, to anchor them on the hanger), and don't know what to do with them? It kills me to throw them away. Some of these are very pretty coloured silk ribbons, and can be embossed with an expensive brand name.
3Do you have lavender in the garden?
OK, harvest your lavender flowers and ensure that they are perfectly dry before use. Dry them in an airing cupboard or the kitchen.
Take your hankies out of the box, and fill the centre with lavender flowers.
Take your ribbons that you have cut off the dress/shirt, and tie up the hankie with the ribbon, leaving the lace edge of the hankie in a frill at the top.Tie an additional bow and loop for hanging on a coat hanger.
Perfect for your wardrobe and four of these would make a great little gift.

I do exactly this!
Have also cut up an old cotton skirt which didn't fit anymore and made little 'lavander pillows' with it.
Shame I only have 1 small lavender bush in my garden nowadays.......The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

OOH - great idea! I sometimes see this cheap and always talk meself out of buying it as OH reckons I clutter the place up enough already without adding more bowls of 'bits' around! Now I know what to buy it for, thanks!
