Millions of Christmas Cards are about to be wasted yet it took TREES to make them.
The Woodland Trust workes hard to save our trees and as such have set up a scheme with Tescos, W.H. Smiths and other major stores to give everyone a chance to contribute to their efforts for FREE.
Read on.
You can recycle your cards with The Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity.
The trust has received more than £500,000 from Christmas card recycling, enabling it to create 22 woodlands but it could receive even more. Every year 2.5 billion cards are thrown out, but only 34 million get recycled.
The Trust has branded recycling bins at Tesco and WH Smith. Last year more than 8 tonnes of Christmas cards were collected in Norfolk through this scheme which runs from 5th January to 1st February.
This is a nationwide effort but ring your local WH Smiths, Tescos, Etc before taking you cards along.
For more details ring 01476 581112.
