help with getting back to work

Some of you may not be aware of this but i have found it extremely useful. I am at present claiming job seekers allowance. Income support is also covered. As i have been claiming for over six months, i am now on the 13 week job seach enharncement programme. you can go two ways one you can continue to look for work but have to report every week for greater scrutiny of your efforts, or if you want to start a business, ie self employed they will help you do that. what is really great about this option is that I get free business advice. free business courses helping me with advertising, market reasearch, formulating a busines plan, etc etc. but i have saved the best bit until last. When i am ready i can start trading. however my busines advisors are co-signatory to the business account, i cannot draw an income although i can draw legitimate busines costs such as advertising. this can last for up to six months. i still get all my benefits and there is not a break in my claim. if after or any time before the six months that busines is a success and is generating sufficient income for me to sign off, i keep all the profits made in that six months. if it fails i continue to sign on. how many people do you know setting up a business have this financial cushion. i think its fabulous for those who want to go self employed.

This is the New Deal Self Employed Option and you are quite correct in your post with the comments you make.
I presume that you were also told that as an additional incentive for an employee to take you into employment, the employer could receive a job subsidy of upto £2310 (for under 25's)?
That's not to mention you have access to Adviser Discretion Funds of up to £300 which can be used for a variety of things to help you find work?
There will also vacancies advertised at the Job Centre office under the heading of Local Employer Partnerships. These are vacancies were certain categories are guaranteed interviews - normally this applies to anyone on New Deal.
Someone on Income Support (with children) accessing the self employed route may be better-off claiming WTC and stopping there I/S claim as financially this would make them better off.====================================================
