3 month old Next shoes falling apart

I have a pair of shoes, which I bought from Next nearly 3 months ago for £40. The front of the sole at the tip of the toes, on both shoes has completely worn away and no doubt will wear through the leather? completely soon. I'm not being unreasonable to expect a £40 pair of shoes to last more than 3 months I don't think? I doubt I still have the receipt as it was nearly 3 months ago... what if anything can I or should I do? I paid by debit card, so a payment to Next would be on my bank statement, but that could be for anything from Next not neccessarily the shoes...

go back and see. We had a lady come in with some knickers, we knew they were ours so we exchanged them. She did have a reciept though.
But i would go to the store and see what they say, it will probably come down to discretion.0 -
I would just take them into the store - obviously they are Next shoes, it's not like buying a CD or something which could have been from any number of stores. I would take along your bank statement too - I did this at Clarks once and they said I could exchange for the same pair of shoes but because they hadn't got any left, they gave me a credit note instead.
I think you should be fine, as long as you just state what you put here, yes, they should last longer than 3 months. It's usually better if you say that you would like another pair of shoes the same as they don't tend to think you've just gone off them or something (even though that's not the case).0 -
Depends on how much you have worn them i guess however knowing Next i imagine if you take them in they will refund/exchange for you0

Fashion shoes or hiking boots? If they're lightweight dressy shoes and you've worn them most days for three months it's not unreasonable for them to be showing wear. Any decent cobbler can put new sections on the front of the soles, though it's best done before the sole has completely rubbed away. If you've only worn them in and out the taxi on a couple of nights out that's unreasonable wear though. Or if they were clearly designed as walking shoes.
Next are pretty good at exchanges though. Smile and be friendly and you never know. I doubt you'll get a refund out of them but a credit note would be more than fair.Val.0 -
I took a pair of Nike exclusive trainers back to JD sports once after the side of them spilt after 4 months of wear without a reciept - I got an exchange for a new pair of trainers - Bearing in mind they had been worn pretty much every day for the 4months and had had a huge amount of wear on them. Just take them back and smile and be polite and ask for their advice really - Thats how I approached it anyway if I could have some advice 'coz the trainers id bought had developed a spilt down the side of them (where the sole and the leather meets).
Good Luck and let us know how you get on
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0
