    My only experience of scans is for my brain, I know it's there because I've seen the pictures, but there are days when DH is unsure. But it hadn't occurred to me that you might need the barium as well on other bits of your body. They use dye on my brain these days, but they haven't told me it's radioactive ...

    Lol Sue, you should ask for a copy of the pics and show DH as proof!

    It must be horrible having a scan of your head, very claustrophobic I imagine.

    I am very much hoping that if I do have to have a scan then I dont need to drink the barium, as I have huge psychological problems with swallowing yucky stuff. Fingers crossed anyway!

    I have an appt to see my gp tomorrow, so I will soon know whether he will refer me.

    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
