Wintery snowflakeyness

We are getting married at the Snowcastle in Finland, with a party on our return.

I wanted to do the hall up in a wintery theme.
I have been shopping today and the local shopping centre has lots of big snowflakes hanging from the ceiling.

Does anyone know where shopping centres get their decorations from?
Do they rent or buy them?
They would look really good hanging from the ceiling in my hall??

  • When are you getting married? If its after xmas then the DIY shops will be selling off their xmas decorations really cheap, I'm sure you'll get some snowflakes!

If you after store or shopping centre decorations why don't you ask them if you could have some of them when they are ready to take them down. I used to work at Boots years ago and ours used to just go in the bin as the the xmas scheme changed each year. If you tell them its for your wedding maybe offer to make a donation to their adopted charity they might let you have them. Worth a go!

There is a company that I found in the Chamberlink magazine (Birmingham Chamber of Commerce) called Essentially Christmas Decorating - they provide decorations for top hotels etc.

  • My daughters wedding is Christmas week so we are doing snowflakes, sparkles etc.
Our indoor shopping centre has a small foodcourt in the middle and we were sitting having a coffee looking at the giant snowflakes in the window of Next and I wondered exactly the same thing!
    Great minds eh?
  • This was our work xmas party last year

I know its not decorations for the hall, but whilst perusing ebay for cake decorations came across some sugar snowflakes. Just in case you are making your own cake/cakes?!

I found these when perusing a site for snow for an event. These people provide snow for all sorts of films and adverts. They sell snowflakes.
