I moved to another country to clear debt!

    The employment income is only tax-free if you remain outside of the UK in full-time employment for a period that includes a complete UK tax year (so if you leave on New Years Day you can't return until 6 April 2007 at the earliest), visits to the UK are less than 91 days on average a year and duties performed in the UK are no more than incidental to duties performed overseas.

    A rotational job will not qualify, it has to be full-time employment.

    The time-frame is also tricky if bird-flu, SARS, family illness or political uncertainties rear their heads during your job overseas.

    Debts are unlikely to disappear either...

    I found that just because you met other foreigners so had something in common, it wasn't enough to become mates - some were weird!
    Also, in some places such as Japan, the Culture Shock is too much for some people - I remember one guy who started off being a bit odd and within a week just kept making animal noises until he was shipped back home! He was a Greek from North London so you'd have thought he could have coped.

    Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
