I've looked for those pans too, my grandmother had some and they were so handy. I've never found any new sets just used ones occasionally pop up on Ebay, I don't know if they're made anymore.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
Mardatha, is this the pan you're after?

I remember seeing them in one of those Kleeneze catalogues that come thru your door.
However a quick google did turn this up:

I am going to vote with my feet next week and try to buy what I usually buy at Sainsbergers either off the market - or places like Wikinsons, Home Bargains, Bargain Madness - for non food/household stuff, there always better deals to be had on the high street than the supermarkets - its just that time is a big factor but I'm on holiday next week so will have chance to have a browse round.
Just hope that the reduction in Basics and Value stuff means that another round of price wars will be on its way soon - I wouldn't be suprised if its a cynical marketing ploy.I suspect that the big supermarkets might relaunch the Basics/Value lines as loss leaders at the end of August - to attract shoppers back in for school supplies and for the Christmas stock that will be starting to be displayed....:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Like the Waitrose 'essentials' range. I used to work on fruit and veg and can tell you its all the normal waitrose own brand in new packaging. No price cut, just more money wasted on marketing and new plastic packaging. They also still sell all the normal own brand stuff at a slightly higher price even though its the same product.
I wish I could get to the local market but due to my rather complicated life atm I always need to do my shopping on a monday or sunday evening. Oh well, back to normal in 3 months and no more Tesco's yay!All that is gold does not glitter

Finally, this loooong time lurker has registered! I've learnt so much from the OS pages, I'm really grateful and no-one has ever noticed the oats in the bolognese sauce! There are so many brilliant tips on here and I've followed loads of them - once I've finished my OU course in October, I'm definitely on the 'grow your own' wagon as well. All I'm wondering is, that with the planned austerity measures, what is everyone going to do if we're already squeezing our budgets until the pips come out! I shop around for the best deals out of habit now (thanks to MSE), so bills can't really get any lower; the only thing to cut down on is the food bill. Thanks to GC, I've reduced by 25% down to £150/month for 2 adults and 2 VERY hungry teens. Has anyone really got anything else left to shave off their budgets? Lovely to finally 'meet' you all!0

Mardatha-what about a simple steamer that goes on the gas.
I use one often. today had potatos in the bottom with water,
in the next one carrots, and the next cauli and brocoli.put spuds on then carrots and after a few mins the cauli as it needs less time then used the water to add to gravey powder.
just a thought.:)0 -
There is a steamer that fits inside this pressure cooker, so you can keep the veg up out of the water. You think that's worth getting ?0
