Can't really see an up side to telling your employer until you really have to.
take care of yourself, first and foremost! For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

How far gone are you? If you are going to have to do things that may harm the baby, surely you need to tell your employer? I would agree with others about not telling until you need to, but only if it does not put baby at risk.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Excuse me for being blunt, but your post seems a bit strange considering your signature (which states that you were TTC since September). You were obviously intending to fall pregnant at some time, and if you were trying then it's quite conceivable that it might happen within your probationary period.
No doubt I'll be flamed for this, but personally if I was that worried that I might fall pregnant within a certain timeframe then I would either postpone TTC until said timeframe had elapsed, or re-assess my priorities (and that's coming from a woman who would like children in the future!)...If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
yes i was intending to fall pregnant. however, why shouldnt i have a baby if i want to???
unfortunatly, i suppose working where i work, unless i'd been here years, being pregnant is always going to mean a risk of losing your job!
if you look at my earlier post, you will see the sort of places im working in where a man is at risk of being sacked because they dont want to pay redundancy.
as it happens, my circumstances mean im going to be leaving work and the area i live and will be going off to do temp jobs until the baby comes.
thank you to everyone who offered advice though.:j TTC from September 08 / BFP November 08 / EDD 22nd July 09 :jOH's debt as of Sept 08 - £15,000 / Nov 08 - £13,5000 -
