Oh Dear

Please does anyone know the answer

We brought a car from fords and had it for 2 years paid every month then my hubby walked out and I was left to pay, I kept up payments for as long as I could then fell behind, they took me to court as I had paid over half and I got it suspended as long as I paid.

Fords then passed it over to another company which I did not know who untill may of this year anyway I called to get payment book and they said I must give the car back or pay the whole lot outstading, I refused point blank and said I had been to court and got it suspended if I paid, I headd nothing else But in the mean time made no payment as I didnt know where to pay and when I called they said not to pay as they were collecting. I wrote letters to this company month after month asking for a payment book nothing arrived. then on the 12th sept I got letter from the court telling me they had taken over and changed the name on the paperwork to this company.
So again I wrote for a paying book for payments to be made, Finally I got one today BUT
I had bailiff from court today telling me THEY were picing the car up on the 26th nov if I didnt pay the full amount.

God how deos this work can I go back to court and request Another suspension as i HAD no-where to pay and they point blank refused to tell me anything as they were picking the car up

  • Anyone please
  • Hi Ambershadow, I'm not an expert but I'd suggest you report them to the OFT and get legal advice - try the CAB - they obviously wanted to be able to claim you weren't keeping up the payments so they could repossess the car:mad:

You could also try the other free debt charities for advice (e.g. National Debtline or CCCS) - there's a stickied thread on here where you can ask a CCCS adviser a question, otherwise their contact details are in the info bar at the top of this forum.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon :o

Good luck and don't let the b$%^ds grind you down!
