Books or websites on surviving recession?

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any books (or possibly websites) about how people coped in the last recession? I've noticed a lot of people reminiscing (sp?) about it, but I'd barely arrived by then, all I really remember is the excitement of powercuts and candles!

A lot of things may not be relevant for our lives these days, but I bet an awful lot still would be. I'd be really interested to hear people's ideas.

Thanks,
Sas x
