AEGON and SL Endowment

Hi,
I am thinking of surrendering or selling my endowments.
They are no longer tied to my mortgage which is 4.99% fixed for 10 years (until 2017).
Because of penalties I can't pay back more than 10% of my outstanding mortgage each year so I would need to find some other home for about half of the proceeds.
I don't think AEGON have reduced the value yet following the recent stock market decline so should I off-load that asap before they do?
Any comments would be welcome. I don't know why board members bother to reply to messages like this but I am glad you do. Thanks in advance.
