Could Somebody Please Explain What I Need To Do In Regards To Doing A Cca. Thank You In Advance. (p.s Sorry If This Has Already Been Answered A Million Times )

Mercers are Barclaycard.
You need to look through the thread "lets all ask for our cca".0 -
Yes Mercers are indeed Barclay Cards inhouse debt collecters!
Last year i received 2 cards from Mercers saying they would be calling...........but thankfully they didnt!
Eventually they wrote to me saying they wouldnt be sending out anymore statements.......and they would carry on charging me interest!
in return ive continued sending them 2 x £1 each month,,,,,,,,,,, which they presumably are accepting as they havnt sent it back!
Ive not heard a word from them all this year...........but im not complaining!
They never 'got' me via the phone as i'm ex directory and my mobile number was an old one!
Also unlike sum of my other debts........barclaycard havnt sold me on, or involved 'out of house' debt collection agencies.0 -
would you suggest i do the same. for example just keep sending what i can afford or do the cca thing thanx0

Yes just make token payments if thats all you can afford.
That way it shows you are willing, and not totally ignoring the problem.0 -

i have been doing this for past 7mths on advise and guidance from CCCS, but still they charge £12 per month late fee?, and are not happy so they are now sent a company called POWER2CONTACT to send me a letter saying if i dont ring MERCERS in 72hrs they ill be visiting me?
What else can i do i have gone down the correct procedue advised by CCCS but they are having non of it even though i am sending regular token payments.
they obviously dont care about people going through genuine hard times who are trying to make an effort to pay there dbts, its not as if we are ignoring them!0 -

Sporty - If they are still charging you, claim back the charges. If they send someone to your house, send them away. Doorstep collectors have no more legal rights than the paperboy. They cannot enter your home unless you invite them in and if you ask them to go away, they are trespassing if they don't.
Don't ring the company - you don't want them getting your phone number. Write to them making an offer of payment and possibly enclose a breakdown of your finances. CCCS should be able to advise you on the next step - not sure if they will try to deal with Mercers themselves. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

I can go into a bank and take away all their money.
Doesn't mean it's legal/lawful.
Have a read of this link. The OFT took the banks to court and won on the question of charges - the banks are appealing. They are allowed to charge you but not allowed to make a profit from those charges. It doesn't cost £12 to send a letter.

Now that the debt is with Mercers, are they still charging you and adding interest? If so, have they bought the debt or are they acting on behalf of the bank? After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

they are acting on behalf of barclycard as far as i know as they are there in house debt collection agency, basically its still barclycard but through mercers, yes they still send a statment each month (barclycard( with a charge of £12 each time,I can go into a bank and take away all their money.
