Maybe we will start buying british instead of importing and it will be a great positive factor but theres so much we just dont make
Agreed. Things will get worse before they get better. (Sorry about the cliche.) Eventually, exports will pick up and there will be import-substitution. It may even be a great time to buy a Blackpool B&B.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
So, what was the upshot of Browns meeting at the G20, did he convince everyone to follow him into the sea until their hat floats as well ?0

This surely is the weirdest website. It's like stepping through the looking glass. Unbelievable.
Anyone who manufactures and exports anything whose products suddenly become much cheaper abroad?
Also anyone who works for a UK company in a job at risk of being outsourced as the foreign workers become more expensive.0 -
Nope, the currency going down is one of the best things to happen to this country for ages. We've been incredibly overvalued for ages, hence exports have suffered etc. In the long run, £1 = €1 would create a heck of a lot of jobs. Just as an example, the UK has become 25% cheaper as a tourist destination in the last year.
So !!!!!! put this up for discussion 'cos he thinks it's good news?0 -
WHAt i cant figure is the pound is falling so mauch against the $ , I mean that is such a debased currency with there rates even lower than ours .. i dont get it0

To not have all the news how can you make a informed decision.....good or bad the news helps you make important choices..if you cant see that your a fool....at the moment news like this helped me to lock in a big sum of money at 1.21 to the euro as i spend a lot of time in euroland.....It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

I think he sees all his posts as good news for him.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
