What Can I Make/do With Flat White Cotton Sheets?

After a big clear out of our loft, I have 3 large flat cotton sheets (I think I may have been given them at some time, I've never used them) - there's no point in sending them to the charity shop as they have a few rust marks on them - so won't sell and we have enough dust sheest as DH used to be a painter and decorator, so in true MSEr style, I can't bear the thought of chucking them in the dustbin - any ideas?

Why not cut them up to make pillow slip covers to protect your pillows. The poly cotton ones allow the pillow to become dirty,so with these as protectors you pillows are always clean. They have to be cut on the length of the sheet not on the width.Undo an old pillow case and use as pattern.0

Thanks - yes I agree they would be good to keep the pillows clean - now, can I stop DH throwing them out before i get a chance to do it???:rotfl:0

If they are only mildly stained you could buy some washing machine dye and dye them a different colour and then use them as your bed sheets - I did just that with a quilt cover in 100% cotton that I bought for £1 at a jumble sale, it was yellowed here and there but I dyed it pink with dylon and it looks great now.
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Thanks Caterina - that's got me thinking - I may actually make a duvet cover out of them if I can!0

I think that you would have to have a black lining - the idea is to have a breathable container which excludes light.0

Throw away your polycotton sheets and use them on your bed - luxury!:jDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0
