Currys's cheating!!!

Options
A few days ago I bought - ordered five mobiles from Currys(their
website), and today one from Dixons and other four
from Currys (also website). Good bargain, so decided
to do so.

A few minutes ago I had a call from their customer
services that they cannot sell me more tha one,
because...their policy is so. I have asked what kind
of policy ? On the website I (and everybody) was
enable to buy max five (from Currys) and two from
Dixons. What's more, they have already charged me for
it!!!! (about 400 pounds!!!!), taken money from my credit card!!!

My question is, because I am not sure where could I go
-to report about the situation - for me it is
customer's discrimination. Why have they charged me
fot it?. He said, money will be back on my account in
5-7 working days time...That's not fair!!!

Moreover, a minute ago I went again to their website and still can buy even five mobiles...

I can only assume you bought prepay phones

If that's the case then the reason they have placed this restriction on you is because it will have been imposed on them by the networks. You tend to find the networks will only pay commision to DSG for upto 2 handsets per customer, anymore sales will not reap in any more commision hence they suffer a loss.

Doesn't help you any but may help you understamd their decision, but I would seriously question 5-7 days for a refund?!

It does say the following on Currys website Terms and Conditions:
"Purchases of more than two pay as you go mobile phones require our prior approval, otherwise we may cancel your order without penalty at anytime. To obtain approval or if you encounter a problem, call 0845 850 0535"
    (".)

It's a common practice for the handsets to be sold on (unlocked obviously) then the SIM cards are loaded using stolen credit cards, registered at bogus names & addresses if at all then used by all manner of people such as, Drug Dealers, terrorists etc.

  • These were PAYG handsets, they were not for me; it is true to say, I am from Poland and wanted to send them there, but only for trade reasons (not for any drug dealers, crime etc.).

I am a bit angry (!!!) with them, and not only, because they do not say clearly how many handsets one can buy (they are normal shops, like bakery or Tesco etc., people exchange money for goods), so I cannot understand why there are restrictions on it?!?!?

I reckon that some of you, at the moment are thinking 'these fu**** Polish wa***', but that's normal business for me or you, and what's more, I learnt it from...Sir Richard Branson who started his enterprise with....LPs and CDs shipped from the USA into the UK, because they were cheaper over there!!! If he had been banned from doing it, some of you wouldn't have bought cheaper Sex Pistols, Status Quo or Simple Minds etc.

And the matter of my money, I am going to say - STOLEN FROM MY ACCOUNT BY CURRYS!!! I am thinking about reporting it to the police! I got a confirmation of purchase, so... we'll see.

thats because the record companes aren't being paid a commission for each LP/CD sold. If you want to sell them in bulk then buy them trade price before VAT and get the commission yourself. Pretty much all mobile retailers limit how many handsets they will sell you in the year contract or prepay)networks included). The 5-7 days refund is pretty standard though by time clearing system works, plus there is bankholiday in the way and if they said 3-4 days and it was late arriving people would complain again, all about measuring expectations(and stealing interest)
