Can I be greedy and add another one? Just been told by DFS our sofas will take another two and a half weeks to come - that's another 2 and a half weeks of sitting on the floor - Hubby WILL be pleased when I tell him tonight! That's the longest 5 weeks I've ever experienced... ahh, maybe it's DFS-weeks... must be like dog years and all that... every DFS week is equal to seven normal weeks... :rolleyes:0

Flower 08 - depending on the present - can you get it on a cashback site or a cashback card or use a comparison site to find the cheapest place for it? Is it an electrical item or something that is likely to come down in price or be in the Christmas sales? maybe you could promise it to her for January or give her a contribution towards it or something? is there something similar she would like but a lot cheaper?Making my money go further with MSE :j

Well, I am actually self-employed and have TOO MUCH WORK
- which is the good news, but the bad news is that I am getting stressed trying to get it all done before Christmas.
It's my own silly fault, as I have become so nervous after all the credit crunch and recession news that I daren't turn any work down - on the basis that this may be the last I get for a long time..... But the opposite seems to have happened, and I just keep getting asked to do more.
So it's nose to the grindstone time for me.
Oh well, at least I can't spend any money while I am working my buns off!
Great thread by the way.0 -
I am actually getting stressed now - despite the fact the floor people might be able to fit the kitchen floor within 2 weeks it now seems like we need a new cooker which will have to be fitted in around the floor people - argggh. It's only a bloomin door seal for a very old model and I did tell the letting agency about it about 3 weeks ago.
Mind you they have had quite a lot to deal with with the washing machine flooding, the boiler flooding , the cooker seal and the front door lock being removed for the whole block of flats - oh well.Making my money go further with MSE :j

Just the thread I need today! So fed up with being careful with money and counting every single penny. Especially when new BF fancies having holidays/weekens away all the time. Not his fault I've been stupid with money and now have to pay it back. Fed up with my work as well. Need to find a better paid job, but if I want to stay within council, need to stay in this job at least till summer time.
And the debts are going down ever so slowly...it's frustrating.Don't have any extra to throw at it as on low wages...DFD date 2014! Surely not.

I feel very much like this
at the moment. I'm having zero luck with finding a job. Feel like I'm applying for every single job I see that is relevant to me (and there has been a few) and I haven't had a reply from any of them, not even a "thanks but no thanks"
I'm trying really hard to pay off my debts, but without a reliable income, I just cant do it
Ok...Thats my rant over.
Next!!!!
Much Love

I am in the same position. Very frustrating
Also I am sick of Halifax as after 8 weeks still have heard nothing over my Hardship claim and I am sick of HMRC because they owe me £70 in past tax credits.
Thats my moan over. On the up side I used my clubcard vouchers to do half my xmas shopping in Goldsmiths. xxNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
