Sony PSP ?

Options
Hi,

Finally decided I want one of these since I had a good go on one in work today. I am not too concerned about black or white but would prefer the gigapack with a game like ridgeracer all in one.

Has anyone got a tip for bagging one cheap ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :snow_laug

  • i would suggest buying from far east and importing even with custom charges it works out cheaper. If possible buy one with 2.0 ir 1.5 firmware then you can play homebrew games. (free software / games written by developers) most if not all gigapacks are 2.5 or 2.6 firmware i believe.
I have finally acknowledged my debt.....

cheers for that. Yesasia are the best in my oppinion but I would be worried that I will not have any warranty if bought from there.

Also just wanted to see if anyone has spotted a new bargain since sales started.

try going down the shops and getting one, Blockbuster do a good deal I think, they give you 10 x £1 off blockbuster vouchers, not sure if its a good price. Otherwise try searching google/ebay
    Kind Regards

I've also been hunting round for a PSP. Unless you want to import, cheapest prices seem to be about £199 for a giga pack in Gamestation or Choices (retail only) but without any game. I'll prolly go for this and buy some games online, as I'm not overly keen on some of the bundled games. Online prices seem to be all about the same, just with some difference in bundled games.

For a basic value pack, Ebuyer and Amazon are around £175-£180 but it's worth the extra for a giga pack for the 1GB memory stick.

    Hi,

Thanks for all replies. I need this psp asap and just cant decide.

I am a little bit broke since xmas but have looked for weeks and all shops seem to be the same price. No one stands out.

The biggest issue is i need the UK one as I want warranty.

Hopefully someone here has seen something. :santa2:

There is a listing for a PSP on https://www.haggle4me.com and someone has found it for £149.95. Why not check it out? I have listed on there.

If you haven't heard of the site (it is new) then the idea is that you list what you want, where you have seen it and for how much. Other users then try to find a better price. In return for the info you pay the "Haggler" who finds the biggest saving a finders fee equal to 20% of the saving. There has to be a minimum saving of £20 or you don't pay anything. It seems like a fair deal to me.

The one for £149.95 is probably from...

    http://www.pspuniverse.co.uk/home.php

But I would stay well clear - see the following review

    http://longrider.blog-city.com/psp_universe.htm

Seems the company is the same people behind MyDV - and we all know what happened to them! (just do a quick google if you don't).

    Just thought I'd warn everyone.

You are right, it is possible that the source is PSP Universe but haggle4me don't allow listings for companies that are not based in the UK and they are based in the US (selling dodgy non UK spec stuff).

H4m give you 72 hours to verify the information provided is correct and valid before the haggler is credited with any money. Therefore, if the source is PSP Universe, then you will definately get a full refund because PSP Universe will not be deemed a valid source under their own rules. I still think h4m is worth a try - you've got nothing to lose!
  • i might be wrong but i thought the warranty was worldwide so it doesnt matter where you buy it.

After checking the usual online sites today and a few hours round town, best deal I could find off a reputable dealer was in Gamestation (shops only):
    Giga pack £199
    Giga pack and WTSoccer £219
Giga pack and WTS and ANY other game £249

Value packs were £20 cheaper, but not worth it IMHO. I ended up with Giga and WTS. Just got it on charge now, for an entertaining evening!
