Dlc / Hillesden Securities Ltd

Good day,
I currently have an issue with the above.
I had a Citi credit card (£7000) which I could not pay due to unemployment.
The account was passed to dlc.
I started work 6 months ago, so got an agreement with them to pay £ 52.70 per month by direct debit which I have stuck to.They confirmed the arrangement in writting 1st July 08.
Last friday I got a phone call saying that I had been paying them as agreed but now they want the payment in full.
I told them there was no way I had that money and reminded them that I had only been working for 6 months and had stuck to the figure they agreed to.
DLC's reply was that they said they were now going to add interest onto the dept and add management fees as well.
Can they do this ?
The dlc letter I got 1st July confirming my DD details was signed by: Team Leader Citi Cards, are dlc owned by Citi cards ?
I would appreciate any advice on the interest aspect.
I requested that they put their demands in writting so that I could consult a solicitor, they said they would do.

They can ask for an increase in payments if they want, or request the whole amount its up to them . Any payment arrangement will always be subject to review . The account with the OC was defaulted so they took step to collect on the debt , which under the terms and conditions they are entitled to do . If you pay a solicitor , it we cost you money to find out the same thing .

Now I come to the better news . You did make an arrangement to pay off the debt , and have stuck to it . This is looked on very well by the courts , if they try taking it to court. One note of caution is we advise NEVER to pay by DIRECT DEBIT . It has been known for these people to take a large than agreed amount .
Many people after getting hassled in this way by a DCA , have requested a TRUE SIGNED COPY OF THE CCA . Also request a notice of assignment . This has the effect of proving the DCA has the right to collect on the debt and that the Agreement is in fact enforceable .
  • I have this morning received a letter from dlc acting for Hillesden Securities, sying they have now located me, as I had failed to tell them of my new address. To be honest, didn't realise I owed them anything. I have e-mailed them, asking what debt refers to. I think it may be an old credit card debt. Once I know should I ask for Consumer Credit Agreement?
