http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0641555.htm £99. Games selection aint that good and the big boys of the gaming market (PSP & DS) have probably stamped all over Gizmondo's chance of success but it might make a reasonable in car sat nav system, mapping software included!
Any good chaps and chapesses?

anyone know of any good alternative uses for this - given the games are not that great ? GPS possibly - but could you get TOMTOM on here? OR can this be hacked to run something else ..0

I may well be wrong, but it looks like you will either need to buy extra software or use the sat nav, or possibly to pay to download the maps by GPRS when using it.
I had reserved one of these, but am now reconsidering whether to collect it.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

the GPS is a not that great btw - i.e. compared to a dedicated one - less recievers on board given the small dimensions - no DiVX support and no WiFI.. just aint worth it.0

FWIW this Gizmondo is now down to £64.49 - available via Ring and Reserve only as it's disappeared off the website.

Interesting story here :-

Seems like they might be trying to get rid of the stock....0 -
I'd be carefull getting one of these dont expect gizmondo to be around much longer. There are a lot of allegations about the company being run by the Swedish mafia as a front to extract as much investment money as possible for there own gains.

I'd suggest putting the £64 towards a Nintendo DS Lite when it is out here, or even importing once you can get hold of any (severe shortages in Japan, 1000 people queueing outside electronics store at 6.30am)
The software line up blows everything else out of the water and the hardware looks very cool.0
