  • Well as of 12.16 pm this afternoon the wife and i are officially bankrupt, as i sit here and type this i still do not no weather to be happy or feel absolutely racked with guilt and shame.

To be honest this part of the procedure was pretty streight forward and the judge we saw was bloody marvelous, he made us feel at ease and even cracked a few jokes, what a top bloke.

The next hurdle will be the OR when they decide to get in contact, supposedly in the next few days but i guess we will have to wait and see. Anyway thanks to all for your kind words and support, because without this board we would still be in the same predicament wondering what to do next.

    Many many thanks

Congratulations stresspuppy - no need to feel guilty, you wouldn't have needed to go BR if there was any other reasonable options. As Sunk says, it is normal to to through all of the emotions but you didn't commit a crime and thats what bankruptcy is for - and it is legal. Now its time to concentrate on yourself and your family without all the stress from debt bringing you down.

  • Hi SP & OH of SP

A tough day but necessary & now you can both start to look forward & rebuild.

I hope you managed a bottle of Netto/ Lidl / Aldi / Tesco Value finest ( no more than £3.99 mind!!!!) & settle down & relax this evening.

It may have been straightforward but emotional so will still take its toll.

    Take care, Angex

Well done stresspuppy I went BR on 05th Nov and had OR interview yesterday not as bas as I thought, was advised car was expemt and value ok, she said we would be discharged between 6-9months, didn't think we would have to pay a IPA as little surplus, but would poss be reviewed before discharged if my OH is back at work permanantly, only issue we may have to give them the computure or buy this back OR is checking and will get back to me have advised that this is used for sons college course work in IT and younger sons homework we will just have to waite and see :j :rotfl: :j
  • Once again thanks for the kind words,

Whilst i was at work today my wife received a call from the OR's office. The guy who she spoke to was by all accounts a very nice person, who took her through some of the details of what would happen next. Whilst he was on the phone she took the opportunity to ask him about our bank account that we had opened with the co-op just before we went BK, telling him that this was the account that we opened to have my wages and her benefits paid into, he advised her that it was ok for us to still use the account as he would have no interest in it. (phew what a relief), and also that we will be able to keep our car, as my wife uses her mobility payment to finance this.
So all in all not a bad few days so far.

    regards
    stresspuppy
