I'm sure recently I saw a post about cooking bacon in the oven. Do you do that? And if so , How? Thanks
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

vivw i know its not cooking bacon in the oven but OH bought a white round plastic tray with grooves in and it goes in the microwave. It actually comes out quite okay and is less time than the grill or the oven.0

the only time I have cooked bacon in the oven is when it is wrapped around chipolata sausages (usually always at Christmas) - and yeah, it's delicious cos I prefer it crispy to chewy anyway0

MMMM, bacon in a oven sounds good!!!
Anyone got any ideas?
How about roasting it in a oven dish with some apples cut into 1/4s
Roast with butter but put a small amout of olive oil in with it so the butter dont burn!!
You could also put in some lovley black pudding!!!!
And serve on a plate!!
mmmmmmm, im feeling hungry now!!!!!!!
all the best
good luck:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
When I used to work for a well known bakery we had a deal with the local butchers, they supplied the bacon and we bought the batches and cooked the bacon in our ovens before opening. Yummy.
We just cooked it on baking sheets lined with baking paper. You don't need to turn it and it takes about 20/30 minutes. It's lovely but obviously the fat doesn't drain so use a baking tray with a rim and be careful when you take it out the oven.0 -
I regularly buy bags of bacon bits of all sizes from my local butcher. They are very mismatched pieces and often quite small. I lay them out on a non stick baking tray and cook them about 190 until nice and crisp. We then use it for bacon sandwiches, bacon and chicken salads, I chop into bacon and tomato pasta etc. (I do sometimes reheat it quickly in the microwave.) Sometimes we just sit with a bowl of bits and eat them! They end up much crisper than when I fry and of course no oil needed.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
