How long can you keep cooked meat for

After cooking a turkey and gammon joint large enough to feed a small country, I have loads left still in the fridge. Can anyone tell me how long you can keep it for. Don't want to cause any dodgy tummy's

You'd be better off asking on old style, but I keep cooked meat for about three days to a week depending on what it anfd how it smells!!

However, you could freeze it (perhaps split into useable portions first) and then use within three days after defrosting. That would be safest.

You could also cook it into curries, etc., and then freeze those.

Ooops....not sure..isn't there some rule about not freezing something that is ex frozen, then cooked.

you can freeze again as long as you have cooked it in between. you cant refreeze if it's in the same state it was in when last frozen. At least, that's the guidelines - whether it would actually do you any harm is debateable!

When buying fresh meat, eg chicken fillets and mince meat, they have been kept at such low temperatures, that I'm sure they'd be frozen at some point. But they still have the 'suitable for home freezing' label.
