    Hi

I have a similar problem. My boss called me into his office today and told me I could either do one of 2 things. Stay on at work for a 5 day week but with a wage cut of 5k a year or leave and he would split my job between 2 other members of the company.

I suggested I stay on at my current wage but do 4 days a week and he said ok to that, but I have still asked for time to think about things.

A few weeks ago i had a days sick - without warning he stopped me a days sick pay when it has been paid in the past - only had 2 days off in 18 months when I first started.

Martin - what do you think?

I am currently in the process of applying for a visa to move to America to be with my wife. This has been ongoing for the last few years. As such, my employer called me into the office to outlay his plan. Our company is going through a tough time at the moment, and to secure jobs, he has told me, if work doesn't pick up in the next 6 weeks, and my visa isn't finalised, I will be taking a 25% paycut. There are 10 employees, including the owner, and I will be the only one receiving a paycut. I am the workshop foreman and lead fabricator, and this reduction, will put me on basically the same wages as my apprentice.
