Pre-lit or not to pre-lit? Advice please!

OK starting to think about a tree! We've decided after having had a decade or so of our old one we're gonna splash out on a new one this year. But here's the dilemma I really need some help with :xmassmile
Pre-lit or not to pre-lit? :xmastree:
Seen a really great tree which happens to be also pre-lit. Now I'm thinking - Great! We won't have the faffle of stringing a set of lights round it BUT we don't know anything about the life-span of these pre-lit trees. Does anyone have any experience of them? What about when a light goes, are they replaceable? Are they the ordinary fairy lights you can get hold of easily/reasonably? Or is the tree going to be a bit less lit up every year? We're looking at the manufacturer Black Box in particularly.
Advice appreciated! :xmassmile
Thanks!

I have a pre lit tree. This will be it's 4th christmas out this year and (I hope I'm not tempting fate here) we haven't had any problems with it.
I don't know about the manufacturer you have mentioned, but our tree takes the same standard bulbs that a string of fairy lights does, so it's easy to replace if one was to blow.
In all honesty - I will never go back to a non pre-lit tree. It is so much easier to put up, no messing about with all those lights, it's great.

Hi Louise
Great to hear the about your pre-lit tree! I'm really pleased to hear they can be really successful! Thanks very much for the info. I think we may well becoming converts this year!0 -
if they are LED's rather than bulbs they should last ages and be fairly energy efficient. I'd definatly go with pre lit if you can, they're are plenty of ofers on at the moment. let use know what you get in the end.0

and the winner is.........
Prelit! :xmastree: A gorgeous prelit Christmas tree has arrived! It's years since we last bought a tree and our lights broke last year too. It's a 7ft tree so I reckon we'll have saved on not having to buy new lights for it and spared the hard job of putting them evenly round the tree! It's got fairy lights so easy to replace if need be.
Thanks guys for sharing your experiences. Helped us make a decision! Looking forward to putting it up for Christmas!
