Natts love, why can't you cook eggs in the usual way? Just WHY do you need a gadget? Eggs are so easy.....

Tell me what problems you normally encounter and I'll tell you how to get over them. xxx

My eggs usually end up either under cooked or over cooked - I'm really carpe at them. And DH loves poached eggs but I can't cook them either for some reason. I want them to be just right in the middle and they come out too hard..grrr!! How come I can cook everything else perfectly, ask me to make a cake or something pastryfied and I am your gal..lol But eggs ugh!!!

After 23 years I have only just perfected cooking rice..hehehe. What hope has an egg got..? Hence the egg cooker. It will definately be a gadget that I will use regularly that I know.

I helped my friend in her b&b, she had one. It takes longer than putting it in a pan & one couple who both wanted boiled eggs, ended up with one perfect & 1 very slimy unedible sent back one. I never tried it again. I'd spend my money on an eggtimer, if anything.

I have one because I CANNOT for the life of me cook an egg to the right consistency. Total waste of an egg done the normal way.

I love my egg cooker. It works really well and has a buzzer when they are done! Oh and only uses about an eggcupfull of water to cook them in

    .

Then you practise using a timer. Set aside one afternoon and a dozen eggs and practise under laboratory conditions - i.e. with an accurate timer that measures seconds. If you get one too hard, then reduce the cooking time by 30 seconds until you find the optimum time for you, your cooker and the egg!

I love poached eggs but it leaves a white scum around my pan even after it's washed and dried, sort of makes the non-stick dull.

Is there anyway to avoid this? Is this the device to save me pans?

I have some poach pods too and finally after almost 30 years of trying I can make good poached eggs. :T

I also use an "Egg Perfect" for my boiled eggs, perfect every time:

Edit: they're cheaper on Amazon, £1.95 with free p&p:

Buy a pan for eggs that isn't non-stick. I use a small cheap stainless steel one that's kept only for eggs. Then you can use a scourer if necessary to take the scum off in seconds.

Can some one explain to me how the pods work please? I brought these from lakeland and my eggs seem to take 40 mins to cook? Are they meant to float on top of the water or should i submerge them? Do i need to put a lid on the pan?

Im obviously doing something wrong :( and hubs and i love poached eggs so i would love to be able to cook these myself.

    Any help would be great

    With thanks
