STUPID debt collecters

GGGGRRRRR

a couple of months ago, i had a letter shoved throught my door saying that someone had come to collect a debt, i checked the address and it was the wrong address i live in s****ing close and the letter was for s****ing hill

The same day I rang the company to tell them they had put the letter in the wrong post box......

Just had a man ring the door bell from the same company looking for the 'hill' address TOTALLY lost my temper with them, snatch the paperwork out of his hand and shouted at him that they were standing at the wrong address and threw it back at him. Then told him i'd ring the police if i saw him near my door again so F**k off

do you think i was a bit harsh??

  • Sounds like a genuine and easily made mistake.

    So, since you ask, yes.

  • But i had already told them once they got the wrong address! i was very polite that time. Making the same mistake twice is taking the mick!

You told their office that the mistake had been made. Very much doubt they passed that onto the actual collector man. So maybe a little bit harsh!

Possibly an error - what do the postcodes say?? So perhaps a bit OTT.

But on the bright side, they know you mean business now!

Maybe a touch harsh in hindsight.

But since he works for Moorcroft, I expect he has had a lot worse. ;)

  • But the thing is it isn't even the right address!!! If it was my address then fair enough, i passed the info onto the company it wasn't as if they got a different person at my address.

If i was harsh, then they shouldn't be so stupid to go to the wrong address, i felt bad after it happened but the more i think about it the less i feel bad, they scare and upset people on a daily basis i think he'll think check the address twice next time...

Hmmm, possibly a little harsh in the circumstances. ;)

However, give who he works for, I suspect there are a significant number of people on here who'd like to give you a medal! :rotfl:

Well at least he won't be coming back :D .
Mind you, it makes me wonder what you would have done to him if it WAS the right address.
Boil in oil? (nah, oil costs too much).
    Hang draw and quarter?
    Impale at the roadside?

I seem to have calmed down over the years (hopefully) but I can empathise with you because I might have told him to go forth and multiply myself at one time. I think now I would just say that he had got the wrong address and if this persisted, I would consider it harassment. Maybe 4 or 5 calls woulds get me out of my pram though but then I would start taking legal advice.

possibly harsh, but do you think this idiot took the job on without realising that abuse was part of the territory.

That'd worry me. I've got one of those nifty labelling machines and I'd be typing out my address onto a label and sticking it on my letterbox in case there was a next time.
