Hi guys, I am hoping that someone can give me some advice.
I entered intoa DMP with CCCS in October 06, I have not missed a payment to date and thought I had paid off one of my debts to Nationwide regarding my o/d. The debt was around 1200 pounds but after claiming back bank charges I owed them about 285. This debt was cleared around February this year.
I received a letter in the post today from a debt collection agency advising me that i now owe them 3,600 for this debt. i am not sure how this can be when i have paid every payment and no one has been in touch to advise of different payment details.
I have been advised that they have started proceedings agains me and that bailifs will be round if i do not pay this by 5th December.
Can anyone offer any advise?_pale__pale__pale__pale_

Hi I would give CCCS a call if you are still with them. DO NOT send ANYTHING to this company that has your signature on, they could be chancers who have bought a time expired debt. Who are they by the way?Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Thanks Tea Lady. I will write to them and remember not to sign. They are called Brian Carter & Co Solicitors. i live in Australia now but this letter has gone to my former address where my sister in law lives. She is going to call the and tell them I no longer live their.0

I take it you have been getting regular statements from CCCS about your repayments? Then you have proof that you have paid off the debt. You could also check your experien credit report to see if the debt is shown as satisfied. That said it could be that after 18 months or so Nationwide HAS sold the debt onto a debt collection agency, without bothering to tell CCCS this, or you.
So the other thing you will have to do is to phone CCCS or send them an email, and ask what is going on
robjakI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks Robjak. Yep I have proof that I hve paid off the debt. Its alarming that the debt which started about 285 pounds (after i got my bank charges back) has somehow jumped to 3600.
I dont know why Nationwide would sell it on after I have paid it off, i cant figure it out
I have emailed CCCS and am awaiting a reply. heres hoping i can give bryan Carter the bird!0
