I think I'm going for the Play bundle but I have a question please.

I am buying this for my sons (12 and 9) and it only comes with one controller so I will need to buy another one.
Now to avoid arguments I need to get an identical one to the one that comes in the bundle so please could someone advise me what that is as there are so many different ones out there?
Also, where is the cheapest place to buy?
    Many thanks. :)

PS Do I need to buy anything else, cables, etc as I'd hate to miss something and they are unable to use it on Christmas Day! :o

if you are buying a 80gb console, then you will need to buy a dual shock controller (these cost about £35)

if you are buying the 40gb console, then you will need to buy a sixaxis controller (these cost about £22) (i bought 2 sixaxis joypads of e bay for £35 delivered

the difference between them is that the dual shock vibrates when you are playing certain games

also these joy pads are wireless, so you will need to charge it when it runs out, you need a lead that will charge it, they will cost you about £2 on eBay or £5-£8 in the high street

but if you look in the house you will probably have a lead in the house, maybe the same one that you use on a digital camera or a psp or similar, (the lead has a usb on one side and the other side looks like a small use attachment
  • Thanks!
We are going for an 80gb and we have a PSP so that lead may work.

Hubby now wants me to wait before buying in case there is a drop in VAT....

I personally would bite the hand of play, with the deals they have on the PS3.

Prices will NOT keep coming down. Everyone will end up waiting and waiting for prices to go down even further. And goods will then be left on the shelves and the economy in an even worse state !!!

Yes the VAT is likely to be announced to go down. But i bet it will not be passed on straight away. Just a hunch but a good one :confused::confused:

Example i bought the all in one scanner last night from play at £54.99 delivered and it has now shot up to £249.99 today.

    I agree.
I worked out if the VAT was cut to 15% I'd save £6.39 but you try convincing my hubby not to wait... *sigh*

    Thanks for your reply.

Would this charger work with the dual shock or just the sixaxis?

  • This is my first post so I hope it's ok.

We got the PS3 80GB Movie Pack with the Blue ray movie "I am Legend" (there were 3 to choose from) with 2 games at HMV today for £299. We got FIFA 09 and asked if we could swap the free second game to the new Call of Duty World at war and they said yes so we saved around £39.00 as we didn't want the other game anyway and the other half was desperate for this one.
