I am considering buying a new pool table for my house. I like the look of the american pool table's, although I really only have room for a 7ft x 4ft.

What are the pro's & con's of slate & non-slate tables?

My budget is only about £600 and I live in the SP5 (wiltshire) area.

Any help you can give is much appreciated.
