Whilst in T J Hughes today [they do a great line in thermal vests for grumpy grandad] spotted Opium aftershave at £12. They also had a great selection of other perfume/aftershaves at £10

To avoid a pointless journey, is that price for 30ml or 100ml, or what?

don't correct people's language when you can't tell the difference between an adjective and an adverb

OK. I realise that I might have caused deep offence to some of the sensitive souls who read this internet forum by my direct question, so here goes again.

It would be a boon and a blessing to mankind if the original poster were to indicate, if time permits from his or her busy schedule, what quantities the commodity referred to in the missive were supplied in. Of course it is of no matter to me, who will travel into the city on a Saturday morning and find somewhere to park and enter the shop to enquire from the ladies behind the till whether the stuff on sale comes in a titchy little bottle which does not represent any saving at the price quoted, or in a larger more economical size where the price referred to is possibly competitive with offers on the internet as indicated in the Google shopping link which I had included in my earlier post, but others, who themselves have busy schedules, might find it moderately useful to have this information so that they might make an informed choice about travelling, or not travelling, into a congested city centre on a busy day when there are other, possibly more congenial ways, of spending their precious leisure time.

Or, in other words, to avoid a pointless journey, is that price for 30ml or 100ml, or what?
  • I was in ASDA yesterday looking for toothpaste and they had a bag of crisps for 79p. They sell other crisps as well!!!

The price is for the or what size. Sorry did not look at the ml, was just a bit miffed that it was mans aftershave and not ladies eau de toilette as this is nannaC,s all time fav perfume. It is the size that I saw at another perfume shop for £24 so is roughly half price.
  • There you go. I hope you weren't upset or offended by the brusqueness of my earlier question. Obviously I am still without a clue as to the size of the bottle on sale, but I now realise that's not your fault. And I do know better now than to ask you to tell a waiting world which other perfume shop you went to where you saw it for £24.

What a nice friendly person you are. Funny, cos I'm someone with a chronic illness, whose English used to be perfect, but I now have a problem in my brain that means it's not what it was. You really brightened up my day with your attitude.
