Designer Jeans

Options
Im looking to buy my husband a posh pair of Jeans for his birthday. Looking in Selfridges today they range from anything from £50.00 - £120.00 (D&G). Looking on ebay they are cheaper but I doubt their authenticity. I was wondering whether its possible to buy online from an American Store? if not, any ideas?
Matched betting proceeds so far: £505.00

  • how about not looking in Selfridges. I wear Armani, Hugo Boss, Ettiene Ozeki etc etc and usually pay around £50 to £80 for jeans (although the EO's were £160). Places like Selfridges aim for the people who just like being seen with Selfridges bags and charge over the odds.
Ebay is usually snide central so look at places like www.bbclothing.co.uk or http://www.terrace-clobber.co.uk/store/comersus_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=69

personally, i wouldn't risk buying jeans from overseas. the thing with jeans is that they need to fit really well. a badly fitting pair of £150-jeans is worse than a well-fittng pair from the GAP. jean sizes vary so much from brand to brand. i buy 27" jeans in one brand and 30" in another. for some items of clothing this matters less, but with jeans, it makes a huge difference.

thus, i feel that it's better to pay more for something you can easily return if it doesn't fit perfectly (and really, for £150, they had better be a perfect fit). otherwise, stick with a brand that he already owns or at least has tried on in the past & knows what fits. if you know the exact size, then buying overseas is easier. just remember that you may have to pay the extra tax when they get here.

    good luck!

If you live close to or in London then go down to Covent Garden, check out the following stores for bargains and great jeans (it's where I buy all mine)
    Diesel
    Paul Smith
    Ted Baker
    Energie

Paul Smith have a great range out just now, I got a pair for my Christmas, £100 but well worth it!
