I took a loan out few years ago with citi financial along with a insurance to cover me if I was off sick.
Fate happend and i was off work for 5 months sick. I claimed the insurance and was told my claim was successful.
Two years later hillesden securities started trying to collect the money from me. I explained what happend and they told me they cant discuss it I need to phone citi Finacial. So I did and there advice was take them to court.
Any way turns out Citi canceld my insurance for some unknown reason. The insurance company said they still have the money there if Citi open the claim back up they will pay them but citi told me as theve sold the debt to hillesden securities the are satisfied and the account is settled with them.
After a few court hearings hillesden securities have decided to dismiss the case against me and they will not persue me further.
So what happens next is the debt cleared or will they pass it back to Citi.
If it is cleared does that mean its taking off my credit file?

*heres another*

Have you it comfirmed in writting . I doubt that Citi would have it back . Did you ever get a Notice of Assignment ? If the DCA purchased the account and they now say they will not pursue , looks like your in the clear .0

When they said they will not pursue you further, did you get that in writing and also written confirmation that there was no debt?
If not then i would request this in writing - get all communication in writing, don't phone.
I'm not sure about the legalities involved, but you will want to make sure that even though hillesden don't pursue you, they also won't sell the debt on to another DCA.After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

They never actualy said they wouldnt persue. It was in court their lawyer asked if its ok with me then they would like to dismiss the case. The sherrif asked me and I said ok. There lawyer who was very friendly towards me just gave me a smile and said dont worrie you won and that was it.
That was all on fri I havent recived anything about that I am planning in conntacting DLC and trying to find out what there next move is but I am hopeing thats it finished. I do not owe this money even the insurance company Metlife has said they have the money owed to citi.
I get the funny feeling they may try to sell the debt but I have it in black in white from Metlife that its them that has the money.0
